Just purchased a 66 F100 a few weeks ago. New to this group. It has a big block V8. I was told it is probably a 429 motor. Gas pedal keeps falling off. Any ideas? Not a very good design.

Nice truck! It could be a 429 or a 460 as externally they appear the same. It would havebeen coinverted though as it wasn't available in a truck of that age. 352 would have been more common. That then makes 360, 390, and the harder to find 428 a near bolt in.

As to the pedal, can't say for certain without seeing the condition of yours. Seems many were trying to figure it out back then, as see plenty of bare rod controls.
