Key fob to work

I bought a 2005 F350 dually. The key fob was not working. I changed the battery, still didn"t work. I tried to program it several times. Bought a new fob and tried it again. I still couldn't get it to work. I can not get the locks to go up and down to show it is in program mode. Checked all the fuses. They were all good. What could be wrong? What can I check?

To program a key fob you need one working fob.
If you don't have a working fob you will have to go to the dealer to set the pats system to the key.

Manually lock then unlock the driver door with the buttons (electronic), then try the programming sequence (key on/off 8 times) and see if the locks cycle. Keyless Entry Transmitter Programming
NOTE: All remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitters must be programmed at the same time.

NOTE: Programming the RKE transmitters can be accomplished using a diagnostic tool or by carrying out the following steps:

The vehicle must be electronically unlocked before entering program mode using the RKE transmitter, RKE keypad (if equipped) or door lock control switch while the driver door is open.
Turn the key from the OFF to the RUN position 8 times within 10 seconds, with the eighth turn ending in the RUN position. If the module has successfully entered program mode, it will lock and then unlock all doors.
Within 20 seconds, press any button on an RKE transmitter and the doors will lock and then unlock to confirm that the RKE transmitter has been programmed. Repeat this step for each RKE transmitter.
If the door locks do not respond for any RKE transmitter, wait several seconds and press the button again. If the door locks still fail to respond, refer to Inspection and Verification in this section. (Make sure that no more than the maximum number of RKE transmitters are attempted to be programmed.)
Exiting the programming mode is accomplished if one of the following occurs:
The key transitions to the OFF position.
20 seconds have passed since entering programming mode or since the last RKE transmitter was programmed.
The maximum number of RKE transmitters have been programmed.

Thank You So Much! The trick was to lock and unlock with the door button a few times before I started the programming. Both of my fobs work now. I went to program the door code. I don't have the factory code to start the door entry lock program. It was suppose to be in the owners manual. It was not. How do I get the factory code for my truck so I can program my own code? Thank you! OhHale
