High Oil Pressure at Idle

Howdy new to your Forum and need you help.

What can cause high engine oil pressure at idle 65 psi is what is being read at the engine oil sensor port.
Just changed EGR cooler and serviced engine, OEM filter with Rotella T-6
Engine as 108,000

Truck runs great, just afraid to drive it anywhere due to potential damage.
Any input would be great

When its cold its gunna have a lil higher oil pressure due to the oil being "thicker" than when its hot. Is the oil pressure still high after the engine is warmed up? You running 5W40 or 15W40? I run 5w40 in mine.

As long as the oil pressure is not excessive at operating RPM (90-100 psi) I would not worry about it.

What is your oil pressure at hot idle?

look on the passenger side of the harmonic balancer, underneath the truck. There is a plug (1") that you can remove with an allen wrench. Thats the oil pressure regulator. Be advised that there is a spring behind it and a piston. The piston should move freely in the bore.

Sounds fine to me, my 400 runs about 65-70 psi cold. but when its warmed up/hot from driving a period of time, its around 20 psi in gear at stop light and 30 psi in park hot. 40-45 hot driving
