Getting rid of ACV and smog system 5.0L

I recently purchased a 1991 F150 with a 5.0L/302. the previous owner removed the smog pump, JB welded the hose to the ACV, and cut the rigid pipe to the Catalytic converter. I'm looking for how to finish the job right. The vacuum lines are still connected to the ACV, which is fallen behind the intake manifold. to get to it I have to remove the intake. What can i delete and what should I plug? Any advice is appreciated. Symptoms of the current state, the engine runs great but the transmission shifts hard and prematurely.
