Different Mods?

Anyone have any ideas on different or out of the ordinary mods?

I really don't need to go any faster since it's mainly a daily driver but it's not out of the question. I've been kinda into appearance mods lately but haven't found anything else I like yet. What about headers or valve covers any ideas there?

Have you thought about powder-coating or anodizing some of the underhood or exposed metal parts on the truck?

Ask Tom about the powder coating. The place he worked (ARC) had a lot of it done.

Smaller pieces are not expensive here. It is much cheaper if they are running the color you need at the time. The local place is an industrial unit. They have standard colors that they run often. Custom colors cost more.

There is even a two stage chrome powder coat. I have only seen pics, not in person.

The last time I checked...engine brackets were about $5, valve covers (2) were about $20. That is the best I can give you as far as cost.

They bead blast stuff here and then coat it.

I had the Weld wheels on my 94 Bronco powder coated black. They came out very nice. No pics left though and that horse got sold a couple years back.

I had the fairlead on my Super Duty powder coated black, they did it no charge because they had a large run of parts they were coating at that time. Brian is right, if you find the right 'car friendly' place and you're not in a hurry you can save some cash.

I'm going to have the wheels on my Honda Rincon and my Weekend Warrior trailer wheels coated in black as well.

Do a Google or Craigs List search and you'll find places in your area that can do it for you.

I'm getting a bunch of engine parts Powder Coated this fall. Since we had to cut and weld the Hot Side CAC to make it fit right, it needs redone. I was told that both CAC Tubes, the Banks Big Head Intake and a few minor parts of the engine were going to be $50 to be done and would take about three days before I could pick them back up. Pretty cheap and really custom.

I put some old timey looking finned valve covers on my 94.

I also put on a set of thermal coated headers. They're still silver after about a year of use.

Actually, you can get some colored silicone vacuum line to replace all the stock black vacuum lines and split it to cover all the wires. This along with powder coating some parts gives lots of bling value.

I've seen good under hood detailings that look better than bling. Nothing more than making it look fresh from the factory, but that isn't always an easy or enjoyable task.

if mine looked like it came from the factory..... the lord would be driving it out of the plant in Canada. i knew the north had it over us.

With all the mods I've done, it'll never look like it came out of the factory! ROFLMAO

Yeah, yeah, it came from Ford with NOS and Water/Meth Injection. :D

What I meant was a good detailing of what you already have can make a significant improvement.

Example-
If Carl was ever to get a shower...
