Can I put a regular brake booster and a split master cylinder from a late model Ford on the firewall of a 73 F600 and get rid of the old booster under the cab? Will it work to haul around 6 ton loads?
I myself can't really give you an answer about that. It could be a volume or applied pressure difference that would prohibit you from doing that. Is there a reason you want to do that? Has the old one gone bad?
When the hydro-vac went bad on my '72 f600 I would get a hard pedal if I was feathering the pedal on a gradual stop. If I released the pedal and re- applied the brake, all was good. I replaced mine with same that was on it.
I thought it may be a better brake system. I thank my booster is bad. My brake pedal is hard and if you hold it for a while the pedal will keep going down.
