  1. 05 E350 Chateau CD-6 Problem

Thanks for the reply. Mine looks like yours. I have taken mine out of the dash (simple easy removal) to check for fuses etc. But no luck. So I bought a replacement for $25.😉
  2. 05 E350 Chateau CD-6 Problem

Just wondering if there's a magic button, fuse or reset procedure for my non playing CD-6 unit. The unit has no display when running. If I put the headlights on, it displays the time correctly. I can reset the time with the Menu button. The CD's will index, load and eject but will not play...
  3. Trans Fluid Temp

I see from other threads that 220* is about the upper limit for trans fluid temp?
  4. Trans Fluid Temp

I'm running a 2005 V10 w/ Torqshift. I pull a houseboat...about 8,000 lbs. When the outside temps are pushing 100° my Scan Gauge occasionally shows a trans fluid temp of 210° w/ the coolant temp at 220°.How high is too high for the trans fluid?
  5. Rough Running OBD 2195 and 2197

    Thanks to you guys.
  6. Rough Running OBD 2195 and 2197

Found the missing vacuum line. Do I ever feel stupid. :headbang: http://72land-n-sea.blogspot.com/2011/09/van-trouble.html
  7. Rough Running OBD 2195 and 2197

When I block that black nipple, I get my regular idle back, but I've since noticed that the a/c only blows air to the defroster. Is that port supposed to supply vacuum to the heat and air control system? If so where would I find the other end of that hose?Or did I just screw something else up...
  8. Rough Running OBD 2195 and 2197

Thanks for the relpies.Took the cover off the motor inside the van to look for anything unusual. The first thing I noticed was that there isn't anything connected to this port (black nipple). Should it be connected to something or plugged? Then I got to following some of the vacuum lines and...
  9. Towing Big Duck

    Towing Big Duck

Bought the boat sight unseen on eBay. Had to drive over 2,000 miles to Las Vegas from South Carolina to pick it up. The van did a terrific job on the way home.
  10. Alaska

  13. Rough Running OBD 2195 and 2197

'05 E350 V10 Torqshift. I'm getting codes 2195 and 2197 and the engine is running very rough. Can someone tell me what these codes mean and what it's likely to cost to get it fixed?
  14. Brake Drag - ABS?

2005 E350 V10 Torqshift. Started pulling to left. Then more. From a stop she was even sluggish. Jacked her up and the wheels spun freely. Pulled the fuse on the ABS and she's back to normal.Any idea what I need to replace?
  15. Cruise Problem 2005 E-350 V10

Jumped it out permanently and haven't had a problem since.
  16. Cruise Problem 2005 E-350 V10

I'm not having problems with my cruise control in the warmer weather, but at the first sign, I will jumper out the switch on the master cyl rather than replacing the switch and bleeding the brake system.
  17. Fuel pump problem...again...3rd time

If you run the speed limit two things happen: 1) when folks pass you they cut in too soon and you have to brake 2) you often come up on someone going slower than you and then need to change lanes to pass.If you never go over 55mph, six things happen: 1) when folks cut in after passing you...
  18. ball joints

I have had terrible luck with trailer (ST) tires. Over 1/2 of the trailer tires I used ended in catastropic failure (blowout, tread separation, uneven wear, cracking). Since I've gone to car radials I haven't had one problem in over 40,000 trailer miles. The van tires (LT) would be even better.
  19. Fuel pump problem...again...3rd time

I've got almost 100,000 miles on my '05 E-350 V10. I run the cheapest gas I can find (from Key West to Homer Alaska) and never put anything else in the tank...never changed the fuel filter unless it's a regular service item and I wasn't aware of it....I never go over 55mph - even still running...
  20. Cruise Problem 2005 E-350 V10

Turns out it was the pressure switch on the master cylinder. I jumped it out and the cruise worked. Ford wanted about $250 to replace that switch and bleed the brakes. I had a trip to FL going and couldn't get to it so I decided to try 'exercising' the switch by applying a lot of pressure to the...
  21. V10 Plug Change?

Thanks Kevin9. I guess I'll have them do the plugs during my 90,000 mile service. My switch didn't get the recall; I'll check it by jumpering it out to see if the cruise starts working again and change it if it's faulty. We're really pretty easy on the van...mostly long trips, never more than...
  22. Cruise Problem 2005 E-350 V10

I do think the BOO deactivates the cruise over big bumps. I've tried holding the brake pedal up against the stop over big bumps and that works. Isn't there also a switch somewhere that deactivates the cruise in the event of an impact? It's nice to hear that others have experienced the same...
  23. V10 Plug Change?

I've got about 90,000 miles on my 2005 E-350 w/ V10 (2 valve). She runs fine except for the cruise control not working. I'm wondering about the plug change that's supposed to be done at 100,000 miles. I hear it can be tricky on some Ford engines, especially in the vans.I have the extended 7...
  24. Cruise Problem 2005 E-350 V10

Anyone got any pointers on where to look for a cruise control that often won't engage. It seems worse in cold weather.I'll be on the highway and the cruise is working fine. I'll stop for gas, get back out on the highway and the cruise won't come on. I've tried using the on/off button, and the...

  26. Anybody have a V10?

  27. Blown Out Spark Plugs

I heard $800 at the dealer for a plug swap on a V-10 van.
  28. Need Help w/ Front End 'Pop'

Oh, by the way. I got all my parts from fordtruckpartsguy.com with logo and hot link at the top of this page. I'll never shop for parts at my local dealer again.
  29. Need Help w/ Front End 'Pop'

These were tight (notice new radius arm bushing and bracket). These two, only accessible from inside the engine compartment, are the ones that were loose. Drivers side - have to move reservoir out of the way to get to it.Passengers sideI needed a 2 foot extension to get down there...
  30. Need Help w/ Front End 'Pop'

The front end popping is finally fixed on my van. What a relief - not I don't dread accelerating or turning corners anymore...Here's what I did: Replaced the ball joints - the noise was still there Checked the body/chassis bolts - they were tight. Removed the sway bar - the noise was still...
