I've always found that shifting by sound is the best way to go. As stated it is an art form as well as a science... Although i lean more towards the art form. Spend some time on an empty road where your under no pressure and just roll with it... Post back up and let us know how it goes.

Soak them in PB blaster then take them off while the exhaust is hot (dont burn your self, i suggest a decent pair of gloves..)

You sure can... you should be able to drive it in 2wd with out hurting anything... and be able to leave the d-shaft in...if you pull the driveshaft you might leak fluid, my memory is fuzzy on those transfercases...

Just an idea austin, but what about getting an enclosed trailer to haul all of your tools, and as a work area to get out of the elements... Also have you considered building a jig to hold wheels so you can work on them standing up and to rotate them, i dont mind doing wheels when they are at a...

I would jack up the rear of the truck first and mess with the linkages to see if you can get the trans out of park...You could be shelling out extra coin for a transmission that bound it self up because its not bolted to the block or because a linkage got bound up with a bit of movement from...

I thought the 250's had an ifs? I know my 95 did with a ttb 50...As for the later gen's im pretty well out of the loop, but i could have sworn some where was a dana 50 solid...
