    my New/Used 06

Great looking truck. I was looking at one exactly like it, except it had a sun roof. How many miles is on yours? What did you pay for it, if you dont mind me asking.

    4x4 question

Thanks for no responses. I did get differing answers elsewhere. I'll share for those who would ask the same question and wouldnt get an answer on here. The majority of mechanics I spoke with including Ford Dealership, say that this is proof that your 4x4 is working. If its not "hopping" on dry...

    4x4 question

06 f350 4x4 crew cab, 6.0 turbo diesel. The truck would not shift via the switch to 4 high or 4 low from 2 high. I pulled the transfer case motor and was able to manually switch it back into 2 high. Today, got a new trans case motor, and you can now hear it click when changing between 2 high and...

Replacement part is 200.00 at autozone and napa. Rockauto has it for 75 plus 35 core.. Ummm, think I'll go rock auto lol

Thank you. Transfer case actuator was stuck between 2 high and 4 high. Removed it, shifted manual into 2 high and I'm rolling again

Wow. Thank you for the info. I am a bit stupid when it comes to diesel. Never owned one till now, granted I drove semi trucks for 14 years and have a little knowledge about them. However that was Caterpillar and Cummins engines and that was 10 years ago o.O

I'll check that out. Question. What is exactly "bullet proof ". If the truck has to be torn down and new head studs, as part of the valve cover repair, shouldn't I just have the rest done while it's that far into it?

    Happy New Owner

Thank you. I'm apparently stupid, as I asked the Ford Dealership about the fog lights, didnt know that the knob for the headlights, you pull outward to turn them on............. I thought it had an exhaust leak as I could smell some smoke in the cab while sitting still or with the windows up...

    Happy New Owner

Just picked it up this morning. Everything works except the fog lights. 241K miles on the clock, runs nice and smooth, shifts just as good. Typical rip in the driver seat where the PO slid out. A couple of dash bulbs need replaced and has some rust over the fenders on the bed. It also has a...

    Pulling out my hair

Tomorrow I'm headed to check out a 2006 F250 4X4 6.0 with 240k miles. Looks like its in almost perfect shape. The only body issues is some small rust holes above the rear wheel fenders. If its in as good as shape as I'm told, its a steal at 7500.00 Will post pics if I decide to pull the trigger...

    Pulling out my hair

Well so far no luck. I'm looking into my late brothers advice. Take off the radiator cap and drive another truck under it... There is a car lot here in town with an 06 F350 4x4 6.0 Powerstroke with 237k miles on it. Its a former Arizona truck with no rust spots and a ding in the tailgate. Runs...

Ohhh, ok. No have not checked that, make it a point to do so. I know the steering shaft down to the box was replaced (junk yard) a couple of years ago because of the slop in the steering. I'll check that tomorrow as well and report back. Thank you very much

    Pulling out my hair

95 F250. Had an occasional violent shake in the front of the truck. Went through the front end, ball joints, tie rod ends ect. All good and tight, took it to the shop and they couldn't find a reason for it. Yesterday I replaced the radial arm bushings, drivers side was shot. Thought I had it...

    Need Advice

Need some advice on a couple of trucks. I'm looking at an 04 f250 7.3 Powerstroke 4x4 automatic for 8k. But there is also a 05 GMC Duramax automatic 4x4, dually. The GMC is 4k more but which is the better motor? Both have over 200k miles, look good. The Ford has a few rust spots but I dont...

    Odd tranny trouble

Well so much for that, withing a few miles it started again. Replaced the MAP sensor, as it was showing bad and replaced it. Still no good. A repeating code however was a 4X4 code that would sometimes show up. I ordered a ECM/PCM online (Ford Dealership wanted 100.00 more for it) for 224.00 pre...
