Any thoughts on the new Fiesta?

Ashley's looking for a new car and seems to like it (mainly because you can load it out for less than a lot of basic package new cars).Anyone know anything about it yet? Granted it's brand new but if anyone knows it'd be you guys.

    Thoughts on preheating?

Just wondering if I could get some thoughts on preheating from you guys. Now that winter is well set-in here, temps are down in the 20s (yeah yeah, I know that'd be welcome warmth for some of your right now). The plane is sitting for a few days at a time and being cold started in the high-teens...

Can an info center be swapped into a the center console of a Explorer that didn't come with one standard? Just wondering if the wiring harness would already be down there anyways or if it wasn't.

    Gauge swap.

Anyone know if this instrument cluster could be swapped into a '98? Obviously the mileage won't match (non-issue in TX), but I'm curious if the cluster will work properly. All the indications and warning lights seem to match. The bottom mounts seem to be the only non-matching thing, but I'm not...

    A Chevy question.

A buddy of mine has a '92 C1500 Chevy, 350/auto. Lately it's been idling rough and has some hesitation under acceleration. A code check produced 54 for the "quad driver module" or a fuel pump/relay low-voltage scenario. The symptoms for the "quad driver module" failing match his truck...

    Facebook add-on?

Since we got the myspace link in our profiles, does vBulletin support a similar thing for Facebook? For those who don't know, FB has gone away from the numerical user accounts and now allows regular acct names which makes for a lot easier linking.

    Mercury Capri XR2?

Anyone have any thoughts/opionions on the Mercury Capri XR2? Digging around online I can find some basic stuff (built in Australia, turbo'd/intercooled, etc.), but not a whole lot.Thanks.

    Key-in-ignition wire.

I've got a wiring diagram for a '93 that shows the key-in-ignition circuit for the chimer to be black/pink. Anyone have a wiring diagram for a later 90's or early 00's model?

    Banks and sensors.

In regards to O2 sensors, is bank 1 the driver's side or passenger side on a RWD vehicle?I had a code pop for bank 2, sensor 1. I thought bank 2 was the passenger side but reading online has a lot of contradictory information.

O2 sensors...to replace one, or to replace all?

In light of one of my O2 sensors crapping out last night, a couple of friends and I were having a discussion about them.Friend A suggested I just pick up a new O2 sensor and replace the dead one (bank 2, sensor 1).Friend B suggested that I replace all of them in a group and that replacing...

    U-Joint failure?

So I got this "whomp...whomp...whomp" noise that increases with speed...starts to be noticable about 25 and isn't noticable above about 60. I have had the tires all balanced and replaced the front wheel bearings. It's the exact same.I'm thinking it may be U-joints. The I can "feel" the noise...

    Centurions?

Was wandering if the people who did the Centurion conversion to the F-150s ever did a non-crew cab version. There's an F-150 with a Centurion badge on the tailgate that's a few doors down. It's too dark to take a picture tonight, but the truck is extended cab, with air horns on the roof. It's...

Word of Warning: Liftgate Glass Hinges

Just a word of warning to anyone planning on replacing one of their liftage hinges at some point.Part number 1L2Z-98420A69-AA on the box, showing "MIP 433H" and "F87B 7842 OA69" on the hinge itself. The part numbers matched on my old hinge and new hinge, however, the mounting bolt that...

    Tach option.

Was driving one of our work trucks today ('00 Ranger, no tach) and got to wondering if the Explorer was ever available without a tach post-95 with the body and interior upgrade. I don't think I've ever seen one without a tach.

    Nice sounding SOHC 4.0L exhausts

Anybody got suggestions? I've been debating redoing mine (if you don't know the story, it's a fun one), headers back to tailpipe. Nothing ridiculous sounding, no rice rocket crap. I was going through Summit's catalog lookin' at some of the stuff for the Mustang with the 4.0L, since obviously...

    Speed limiter?

An aviation buddy of mine remarked to me this morning that he had done over 100 in his Explorer on the highway ('95, 4 door, 2WD, 4.0, auto). I thought that was awfully high. I didn't wanna get some triple digits on mine to see one way or the other, but I remember my Ranger when it was stock...

    4.0 SOHC tensioner work...what's Ford's proc.?

Hey Ford mechs...I was just wondering how you guys went about doing the rear tensioner work on the 4.0L SOHC engines. I was always under the impression that the engine needed to be removed from the vehicle, but another post seemed to state that you could do the work via removing the intakes...

    Tach sorta kinda doesn't work.

Went out to leave for class this morning, started my truck, tach didn't come up. Just sat on zero. I let it idle and warm up for about a minute, put it in drive, drove away, and maybe five hundred feet down the road it came up smoothly and worked properly all the rest of the day, including...

Burning rubber smell on a Tribute

You know, the Mazda 'scape thing...Girlfriend owns it...yeah she drives bad but not like burning rubber bad. But every time we go somewhere and park it, I can smell burned rubber. I can't isolate it...the tires don't smell like they're burning, and I can't "track" the smell to an isolated...

I had to research this a bit today...and figured it had some application here as well.A lot of people forget that cars and trucks weren't Mr. Ford's only productions. In the early 1920's, Ford (along with several other companies) invested in the Stout Metal Airplane Company, which through a...
