Has anyone used this on their mustang? I am trying to removed the stripped roofside weatherstrip screw near the door hinge and tried this one and am not having good luck...
Was curious about the pump cup on the Holley 1940 carb. Should the cup go all the way into the "well", or should the cup and spring be compressed when the bowl cover assembly is reinstalled? Hoping for the later, as I cannot see how the cup would fit in the well.I can send a message to anyone...
I pulled my carb off tonight. Honestly, with my non-vast knowledge of carbs, and from everything I have read from you guys, it appears fine. The one thing that is odd, and this was my mistake, was that when I inverted the float bowl (checking to see if the floats touch the straight edge (figure...
How difficult is replacing the vacuum advance control? Would I need
to check my timing afterwards? My nephew seems to think my carb issue is timing-related. Couldn't hurt to check I don't guess. He also mentioned that the diaphragm in my vacuum advance control canister could be shot...
I know you can get them new online for around $50 (and I prefer the physical manual versus the CD), but does anyone happen to have one sitting around that they would like to get rid of?
Someone on another Mustang forum just said that '66 Mustangs with the inline 6 did not come from the factory with an exhaust manifold???Is this right???
Okay, one more question, for now. I have the model 1940 1V carb. that I rebuilt a few weeks back. Since having issues with the replacement of my radiator I have not had an opportunity to do a good run of the engine. I did crank it for a few minutes, though, and noticed fuel leaking from where...
This truck is pretty solid and has minimal rust. I have a bunch of Eastwood.com stuff that will come with it, including seam sealer, fuel tank refurbishing kit, cab bushing mounting kit (was going to change the rear bushings when I removed the fuel tank for refurbishing) and sound deadening...
underneath my truck this morning. Raised the hood and the other end was in the same tiedown as the wiring for the windshield wipers. I assume this must be the wiper fluid hose? I don't currently have a wiper fluid container, so cannot verify for sure. Anyone have any idea?
Last week a co-worker came in and let me know that he had cut my headlights off for me. This got me to thinking about a way to wire a buzzer to let me know the lights were on when I open the driver's door when the truck is off.Has anyone considered and or made this modification? If so, would...
for an Autolite 2100 2bbl carb. I have a full rebuild kit for the carb, but I will be using that on a 2nd 2bbl carb I have. Would like to replace these two pieces on my mounted carb for the time being. Also, if anyone has a glove box for a 1970 F100 that would be awesome...
Okay, looks like one screw is holding my ashtray in, then I can remove it and finally get to working on it where it actually works. I know at one point someone mentioned ball-bearings are used to guide the ashtray in and out.Anybody have any feedback or tips? Am getting tired of using it as...
Okay, recently I noticed that my steering wheel on my 70 F100 looks like it must have been painted black at some point... There is green below it. The dash is green and the seat belts... Was my steering wheel originally green? If so, what is the bestest way to get that black paint off...
Probably the easiest question you are gonna get, but how difficult is it to
remove the steering wheel using a puller for a 3 on the tree steering console? Thanks in advance,
Steven
I am still getting a severe rumbling of the whole truck when I put in 1st gear and start driving. Goes away quickly, but is still there. The flywheel has been resurfaced and I have a new clutch kit on it. Supposedly the drive shaft was balanced as well...Anyone else know what else it could...
Have charging issues on my motorcycle.Beginning to think it is my regulator/rectifier (converts AC to DC then sends to battery to charge). I checked continuity among the 3 yellow wires at the stator (AC creating thingy) end and had no resistance (not supposed to). When I checked each of...
I've been around tools for awhile, seeing a lot of weird ones while a mechanic in the Marines, but what the heck kind of tool do you use to screw in the bolts that hold the seatbelt harnesses to the frame?
Okay, so I want to install headers on my 360 and I would like to do it on a budget... suggestions???Speaking of headers, do they generally improve or hurt fuel economy?
without lens. Got off ebay and it arrived with a piece of crap lens cover. Turned out I didn't need the assembly anyway... Mine was perfect.Make an offer.
Anybody got a homemade solution to restoring lenses on exterior lights... That stuff they are selling on TV cannot be the only solution. Thinking baking soda and vinegar would be a good start.
Just bought one...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/64-79-Ford-NOS-PIckup-Truck-F-Series-Dome-Lamp-Lens-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZalgoQ3dLVIQ26ituQ3dUCIQ26otnQ3d4Q26poQ3dLVIQ26psQ3d63Q26clkidQ3d8778376031218301645QQ_trksidZp5197Q2em7QQitemZ180609030976
Coming from the choke, can this be attached to the coil? Ben and I noticed this past weekend that an F100 had their electric choke hooked up that way. I was told before it should connect to the Stator connection on the back of the alternator.
Alright, I have a plan on figuring out where the wires for the new switch go into the connector, but the big question is, I am having a doosy of a time getting the old wires out of the connection. Just sprayed some PB Blaster all in where the connections slide thru to see if that takes care of...
Anyone happen to have a new set of vent window seals for a 1970 F100
that they are trying to get rid of? Checked Mac's and they want $75 for a
pair? The door weatherstripping only cost me $40/pair... Cannot understand
why these small vent window seals are so costly...Thanks in advance,
Steven
Anyone happen to have a rearview mirror for a 1970 F100 in good shape? Also, the entire dome light assembly for the inside of the same truck?PM me,
Steven
