Is your weather stripping really new? That can make the door a little harder to close until it's broken in. I notice this with my passenger door – since it doesn't get use as much, it is taking longer to break in the rubber.
On the interior – I agree, I'm not a big fan of red. The white accents would really set it off and make it look good, though. I like the seat in the pic you have. Is that a Lariat seat pattern? They almost look like buckets and that console goes to the floor – but I can see the back of the...
This wasn't today, but recently: Full coolant flush, new thermostat, and reinstalled the original radiator that I just had to have recored at a local shop. It sprung a leak on me recently.I was tempted to go SuperCooler when the old radiator went, but with a new, mineral deposit free core in...
Couldn't a guy save a lot of money by finding an NP 205 part time, gear driven case and swapping it in? It would be a better, stronger case, too. You might be able to find a factory part time truck at a junk yard and grab the case and any additional parts you need fairly cheap.
Oh, my lord. Did they fashion a radiator overflow tank out of a drinking canteen? I'm not sure if that's awesome or awful. I'll have to think about it for a while.
I have no issue with rpms going through the roof with 4.10's Maybe it's the 33" tires, or the cam, or maybe the fourth gear on the top loader is higher than the C-6 top gear. Or any combo of those things.
A ton of top soil barley makes mine ride any better. That's why the old seats are so nice and cushy. These truck weren't made to move when empty.smilieFordlogo
A rig is not clean unless the tires are cleaned! Otherwise, it's like wearing a nice suit and tie with muddy boots.I use the Armorall Foam - I like the look because it's not TOO shiny.
It SHOULD smell like that intoxicating aroma of the blended scents of gasoline and vinyl that hits you in the face every time you open the door of an old truck. That drives the ladies crazy! :wavey:
That just kick started my memory. Until I saw this, I totally forgot that I had bottles of bath soap and shampoo when I was a kid that were shaped like Dukes of Hazzard cars - the General and a police car. Avon used to do stuff like this a lot. I've never seen a Ford pickup like that though...
Agreed, it has some issues - but you caught way more of those than I did. I admit, a lot of what you caught went right by me.I agree with this. I just think it would make a nice driver, and a driver is better when it's not perfect and you don't have to worry about putting the first mark on it.
I tend to agree with the first answers you got. I wouldn't want to go any up any more than what you have now and and loose the low end. However, the aftermarket overdrive units can get pricey from what I've seen. Can you offer any more details about what else you plan to do with the truck...
^^ Alvin will find a way. It might not be the factory-Ford way, but he'll do something that just works. That's why I I love reading his posts. Factory specs be damed, he just does stuff that works. Then there's your build, Duncan. I know you'll have every last rivet in place that FoMoCo...
Did they make an F150 Trailer Special? I thought that all of the Trailer Specials were 250's or 350's. I could be totally wrong - looking for someone to chime in that knows more about the package than me.
