cost is big factor in that. yes i can build a 9" tru trac with disks. for total of 2 to 2.5 grand depending if i built it from scratch or buy assembled parts. or i can get a used sterling out of a junk yard and rebuild it with a tru trac for less then 1200. i guess its all about what you start...
hey guys.so i been playing around with the idea putting an 9.75 axle under my 77 from a 05-07 van. i a little more inclined to this route over building a ford 9", because i get a axle that comes with disc brakes, and it has a high payload rating then 9".the only think that is holding me up...
further fun beingsfound what was truly broke. :(. feel even more stupid for the fact that the last 2 times i been in this diff i though it had an open center, so i said screw the rust pitted ring gear and worn spiders.anyone know if you can get the end plate the broke. i've seen spider...
missed this post. Russell, very good advice you have there. while not my problem (ran a test lead up to the battery before posting) grounds seem to often be over looked. i ran a bed, a cab and a engine ground made 4 gauge wire when i started this project a few years back. due to all kinda of...
i rarely tow, and this truck see's everything from mountain roads to long sections of freeway but mainly works are a run about getting stuff my car wont and cruzing. so the 3.50's work well for me matched with a np435. or at lest i think so and i like the fact i can get 11.5 to 13 mpg.
hey guys. im looking into building the 9" i have in my 77 f150. though i shelled out my trans the other night, turns out after going back and looking playing around with it, i lost something in my rear axle.my question about building a 9" is should i go 31 spline or 35 spline with good yukon...
glad you found the issue! rebuild doesn't always mean it was rebuilt well. remember almost anyone can put together an engine that runs. it take an eye for detail to build a engine that runs well and lasts.
np435. seem that input shaft is fine (idles without noise), but boy does she not like moving in any gear. i post a rebuild thread sometime in February. it not big loss it needed a rebuild, input shaft leaked and it howled in 3rd above 3000rpm. i was planing a rebuild in February on it or my...
i am laughing and being sad at the same time. i got walked by a Honda civic.....when i grenaded the transmission stop light racing :(. i guess it finally time to rebuild my spare
i have had a few injected car sit for a long enough to varnish the injectors. sometimes it take a while of running on starting fluid and and some rpm to get them to clean out. intake back fires can happen to as the fuel starts to piddle out the tips
