  1. Ranger towing capacity

I did end up towing 1500 pounds 3 weeks ago, and the truck made it to 48-50MPH and said "nope." With 25MPH winds pushing me, i could do 53...
  2. Ranger towing capacity

3500? I've been hearing 2200 for an 18'... Yeah, that's a different league... I'll just use my old mans 03 Sequoia and let that take the beating. He can probably write it off when it gets its next recall (gets one about every 8 months, usually a year or two after he had to replace the recalled...
  3. Ranger towing capacity

Considering an 18-20' full size camper, empty. If there is hefty tongue weight, I could add a little weight to the back end to lift the tongue up. Very high chance I'll be buying one to live in within 2 months. More than like it it will be towed no more than 200 miles from purchase location...
  4. Ranger, no spark

Hello Mike, welcome to FTF!It cranks but no spark? I had an issue where 1 spark plug wire connector had broken in the spark plug "boot." The lack of that 1 plug not firing prevented the motor from firing any plugs. This seemed somewhat common when I searched google when I had this issue...
  5. Ranger towing capacity

I have a 93 2.3/5speed single cab short bed. Using the hitch on the bumper what would you say is safe to tow? How much would that increase if I added a dedicated trailer hitch?I realize I could just look at the owners manual, but since they have a method of determining the limits that may or...
  6. no fire ranger

Does it crank but no spark? I had an issue where 1 spark plug wire connector had broken in the spark plug "boot." The lack of that 1 plug not firing prevented the motor from firing any plugs. This was in my 93 ranger 2.3 5-speed.

  8. Need some education.

  9. Ian......

    4x4x4 AND diesel? [loves]
  10. Not getting spark.

OK, pulled both coil packs, 1 looks fine. The other seems to have a spot that looks and feels like ashes that is boring a hole into the pack....Might as well replace both and hope that fixes the issue. And grab some new plugs and wires while I'm at it.
  11. Not getting spark.

Drivers side spark plugs fire on the exhaust stroke to burn off any unused fuel. So if that bank failed, the engine SHOULD still run. But doing some reading the cam sensor won't allow the engine to run should 1 coil fail.
  12. Not getting spark.

I knew it had a distributorless ignition, but the short name escaped me at the moment. Now do you mean 2 separate coils? or two sets of wires running off of 1 coil? There are 2 boxes with plug wires coming from them, one for driver side, other for passenger side. I have heard that it was the...
  13. Not getting spark.

Has decided to run the last 2 days just fine. Now off to learn how to reach the coil...
  14. Not getting spark.

Gonna try and see if this is something I can fix myself.Engine turns over, gets fuel, but there is no spark. This happens intermittenly and the truck will run a few days then not want to start for a few days.No CEL, all wires are connected to the "distributor." Doing nothing it may start...
  15. Introducing your 2013 F-150

I hate to say that I think each newer generation after y2k keeps getting uglier with smaller windows and a deeper bed...
