Linseed oil or just dump some old hydraulic oil on it

I use Thompson's water seal. Spray it on with a pump sprayer.
Runs around $20 gallon at Walmart

Hydraulic oil thinned with diesel works really well too. It's just nasty if you have to lay on it for some reason.

Hydraulic oil seems to be the consensus.....very cool....thanks fellas! Now to find a pump sprayer.

UHaul says they weigh about 2200 lbs...I've pulled a number of these behind different rigs- they pull "heavy" for 2200 lbs, but they're great trailers.

I did OK through western Maine...truck seemed happier in fourth gear than fifth (it's a 6-speed) to keep it up in the power-band, but that was pretty easy pulling. Gassed up in Gorham and from there to St. Johnsbury was a little more work...but like I said, it was dark and I was tired...a little off my game.

That's not bad at all!

Or spread it with a brush?

Will a cheap walmart sprayer spray this stuff?

You will have to thin it like Jake said

Oh ok, thanks.....add some diesel to thin it out, then cheap walmart sprayer.

The last few I used, the oil reacted with the rubber seals in a not so favorable way. But I guess if you don't leave some in the sprayer it may be fine

So, clean it out with soap and water?

Gasoline?

Just rinse it?

I wouldn't recommend an electric sprayer, and don't smoke. We use a plastic cheapo weed sprayer, hand pump, used it for years now.

Received this in the mail yesterday and put it together....pretty impressed with it's quality for only $12.86.
