Wondering what you fellas would do?

Well I suppose, because you asked, have you actually tried reaching under your bronc and tried touching the t-case motor Ken? How is the little woman going to feel about getting down on her hands and knees to put this thing in four wheel drive? It`s one thing when you say "Baby, you gots to get out and turn these little dial things, and then you gots to get back in and pull this thing back sos you don`t slides all over the place in the snow." It`s a whole new deal to say "Baby, just turn the little dials and then get down on your hands and knees and reach under here and turn this little knob to put it four wheel drive. Don`t forget to wear your bibs.":)

You have manual hubs, the t-case motor has been replaced, everything works, right? Just let it be. Personaly, I`ve been on their website, I`ve watched the videos, and while it it may be fine for a rock crawler or a trail only rig, I would leave it alone for a daily driver just for the simple fact that you are going to lose your ability to shift on the fly. If they come out with a version that allows you to shift from the cab, than by all means do that.

And not to hijack, Duncan, does your 750 have hubs, or does the front axle turn all the time?

There's a few good points here, but maybe you need a few more facts:

-this is our 5th 4wd vehicle, so chances are wifey won't be voluntarily jumping in and under this rig
-wifey has her own winter 4wd dd
-the broncs purpose was for a winter dd for "ME" and something comfortable and safe enough for the family when we all go

As far as the electric shifter still working...the vehicle is 20 years old and it's not a matter of "IF" it will fail, but "WHEN". These are notorious for failing.

The other point I was seeking advice for was my own peace knowing it's in 4wd for sure and not wondering every time I have to shift it.

Also, I don't recall ever mentioning replacing the Tcase motor. I never replaced it. Not sure about po.

No hubs....my drive axle is planetary driven....diff reduction is about 1.42:1 and hub reduction is 3.46:1.
Knuckles are double cardan with a 42 degree crimp angle....you really can't tell you are driving the axle until you lock the front diff.
Here is a spec sheet:

Just a poor attempt at humor Ken. I`ve had to go through it a couple of times is the only reason I brought it up. I guess I just misunderstood the broncs purpose. That being said I still stand behind my opinion. And in the third pic in your first post on this thread the t-case motor has a Dorman sticker on it which makes it a replacement.

No worries....I actually wiped away the dirt on the motor before I snapped the picture, so I knew it was not the original, thus my own reasons for bypassing it...For every 100 Broncos I've seen on the road and in forums online, I might see one where the darn thing is running right at the moment; the electric 4wd shifter. You can say the same about the auto lock hubs.

Like I said, you have some good points and I, too, will stand by my own reasoning for at least desiring to change it, that it's not a matter of if, but when the darn thing will fail, so that's why I was second guessing myself as to whether to wait to change it now or when it fails at some point in the future. Changing it in the fall is a lot easier than changing it in the winter up here in Maine unless you have a heated garage.

Well Ken, are you still happy with the Shiftster? I hope?.....:wasntme:

I sold the Bronc.....but yeah, I still think the shifter was a great alternative, especially to some of these 20 year old rigs that were built with the electronic shifter that wasn't as reliable in the winter time.

I even changed my hubs to manual hubs......really miss the Bronc! :(
