Son Wants To Buy '99-'03 7.3L PSD

Hey guys,

My son wants to buy the following:

'99 - '03
7.3L PSD
F250 or F350
Long Bed
Crew Cab
4X4

I would prefer that he buy one that has not been chipped and abused and driven like a race car as he will not be able to pay for the "possible repairs".

Just thought I would post in case someone had one or knew someone that might be selling one.

He claims that it must be the things above so he can have his tool box and still have room in the bed to haul stuff.

Thanks,

Jeff

a chipped 73 will never be hurt. the best way to kill a 73 is with lack of maintainence.

make sure when you are buying one, look at the turbo fins, try to start the truck when it is cold, make sure the tranny fluid doesnt smell burnt.

Bought a second truck?

Nope... just one truck

Original post was me looking for people on the forum that may have or know of one for sale.

The post this evening was me stating that he found one.

I sold my son my 1997 7.3L w/ a DP tune. It is a great truck. The transmissions are not that strong in them and IMO Suncoast is the way to go when/if the time comes. Had one put in the truck two years ago (when it was mine) and it is a strong transmission now.

p.s. - as my first post, I would also like to say it is great to see a lot of familiar and knowledgeable "faces" here!

Great to have you.

This site is more responsive, less authoritarian, less Ford bashing and more about personal responsibilitiy when modding one's truck.

Great to have you.

Thanks for the welcome!

Jeff - congratulations on your sons purchase. My sons truck has apprx 250k and sounds great, pulls strong. He also has front and rear Ranch Hands.

I drove the truck off in a 4 ft deep ditch on the deer lease (long story) - had to lift the front end w/ a tractor to get it out. The Ranch Hand bumper took all the impact. I broke a leaf spring and the drivers door had to be adjusted, but the bumper protected the front and the side panels and was not even damaged. I guess I should have taken pictures and sent thenm into Ranch Hand!
