Had to replace all 8 injectors at 335,000, but I will never give this truck up... the rest of her still runs as designed... same transmission all...

My 2003 Excursion now has 299,300 miles and runs just great.

Had to put into a new radiator and fan clutch last...

Have done a few maintenance items... but basically the motor is stock except for new injectors, a turbo and new FICM a while...

Smell in can was due to cracked turbo inlet pipe (flex joint) and to a lesser degree the leaking exhaust manifold gaskets. The factory does not use gaskets.... so they leak over time.... the fix is...

make sure you have an OEM oil filter cap and an OEM oil filter. Will-fit caps and filters will allow the drain valve to remain open and the oil that is to stay in the oil filter housing drains...
