Picking up a '65 SWB F100 tomorrow!!

It has a 351W in it now, that is a recent rebuild. It has a 4spd granny in it as well. What are my trans options for an auto? I have read that is has the bell housing pattern of a 302,289, 351C? I have 3 gen 6 trucks, 2 with the FE engine. I have grown attached to the FE. The truck was originally a I-6.
What are the advantages of the Windsor over the FE? Weight being a big factor.

WWYD? what would you do?

f it was me and i was going to use it regularly i'd get a rebuilt AOD and drop that in ..... nice economical cruiser with that od . I'd also get power steering for it too.

I agree
The 5.8 w is a great motor. Parts are easy to get, builds great power.
It uses the 4.9, and 5.0 bolt pattern.
The AOD requires no computer to operate, just a TV cable. (like a kick down cable)
