I agree with them 100%. The whole key to optimal power and still meeting emissions is to find the sweet spot where the fuel mixture and ignition timing are matched up with the engine characteristics. If you think about it, getting the spark too early can actually rob you of power, as the pressure wave will slow the pistons, rather than speed them up. You want it to hit the piston just in time to be pushing it back down the bore, not before it gets to TDC.
 
glad you guys like them as much as i do. i suck at tuning but i love the topi. i find i crazy how changing a part of one system, spark, timing, fuel mix etc changes everything. i also love how some changes can create false solutions like rich fuel mixes and advanced timing.
