'69 F-250 power steering problem

I have a Bendix type steering gear on my '69 F-250 Camper Special. Repair parts are unobtainable and rebuilds are sky high. I have heard that I could use the Saginaw(sometimes referred to as Ford) gear box if I changed the steering column to an early 70's model. Can anyone educate me on this?

Welcome to FTF, Hoss. I moved your post to where it will get more exposure and hopefully an answer!

Must be the wonderful power assist... The steering gear is what you have to change. I dealt with it on my 75 250 4x4. I put the steering box from a late 70's on it.

Must be the wonderful power assist. [confused]
OP made no mention if his '69 F250 is 4WD and Power Assist P/S wasn't available for 4WD's until 1973.

This is the Bendix P/S the OP is referring to:

Bendix P/S: 1966/68 F100/250 2WD; 1969 F100/250 2WD before serial number D96,001.

Ford/Saginaw P/S: 1969 F100/250 2WD & F350 from serial number D96,001; 1970/79 F100/250 2WD & F350
