Thats the one with a high pitched squeal under high boost/heavy load. The leaking exhaust component is on the rear of the engine. A lot less skinned knuckles doing it that way.

love to see a few pictures on how to prep, what it looks like when it's being pulled, and one where it's most disassembled.

Putting it back together is of no interest to people like me.

Sure...that would be interesting to see.

If you have time, write up what you actually have to unbolt/remove to get it off.

Do you think my 56 cab will come off the same way?

K not gonna read that last post... Yeah right.

I've heard those new 08's are designed so that the cab pulls off real easy in a short amount of time, I forget the number. Somethin' like an hour or 2?

The first time of any operation takes longer. This will be my first 08. The 6.0s averaged 3 to 5 hours depending on accessories (wrecker body, boom truck, etc)

Automatic transmission.......................:blah: :blah: :blah: post too long..had to edit some[confused]

I was expecting, disconnect battery, unplug electrical connections, drain antifreeze, unbolt body, lift.

Well...Ok...with the newer vehicles...it has to be complicated or anyone could do it at home.

Its like 8 or 12 bolts, remove whole front cap, unplug electrical connections, unbolt cab, and lift on mine. The lift can be (and will be in my case) a folding engine hoist.

Since this is on the 08 and it was designed specifically by FMC to have the cab removed, that list shouldn't take you longer than 45-60 minutes to complete.

:rolling laugh: :rofl2: :rolling laugh:

Pictures would be cool, along with a count of how many thrown wrenches and four letter words. :prod:
