well that explains why the frame split like it did....

wasnt meaning where the box bolts to the frame.. i was meaning where the cross member was attached to the outer frame runner on the driverside... with where its split on the passenger side im wondering how the driverside in the same spot looks...

Got a little done, but ended up side tracked again on another project. Won't get back to it til later tomorrow.
Didnt realize bottom of frame was broken too, so started there.clamp to hold things where I want until I get it where it belongs

Been a while since I posted. Sorry, live has kept me busy. I guess this truck will be a Dunkin style project. Lol
Motor is pretty bad. I'm going for a short block, just no time for a machine shop, wait for parts, etc. To be honest, I think the block is probably done anyway.

Oh, and sorry how the pictures line up, I have no control with tapatalk.
As you can see, 240,000 miles has taken it's toll. The crank and bearings aren't bothering me as much as the broken rings, and the scores piston.
Block is already at .40, so there isn't a lot of play for cleaning scratches out of the wall. .40 is about as far as I like to go on a street motor, especially a work truck

So, in waiting on myself to decide on a short block, back to the frame.
I couldn't get the body lines where I wanted them while trying to set the frame rail to weld, that's when I realized the body mounts were beyond worn out
Energy suspensions body mount kit will be what goes back in

The core support mounts were pretty easy.
Undo top bolt, saw middle, jack up, replace

Middle mounts, not so much.
Got the right side done, left side a pia. Fuel tank is right there. As well as transfer case, etc.
Took the front strap down, and used a ratchet strap over to the other frame rail to pull the tank out of the way. Of course, it's full.
