Floorboard rust

Pulled the original carpet out of my truck last night to get a good look at the flooorboards. I have a 2" diameter area of rust on the drivers side by the fornt of the door and a very small speck on the passenger side. The rest of it looks brand new. Should be an easy fix, I'll get pictures tonight and post them.

when i did my floorboards i had about a one foot area totaly gone. it was just floor mat covering the hole. good times.

I feel really lucky that there is not more rust. I do have to replace both cab corners, above the rear wheel wells and maybe the bottom of both doors.

A little worse than I thought but I have seen much worse.

I did not see the rust until I pulled the rubber for the door out of the way.

Very common spot on these trucks for rust. The problem was the juke backing on that carpet holds a ton of moisture in it.

Been there done that . I used to throw those braided entry mats under carpet in winter ( I know I would run a 79 now in snow) To help breath .

But your is not bad at all.

This will be a good place to start practicing my patching skills, especially since it won't be seen when I am done.

After I replaced the drivers side floor pan in mine, I blasted the inside and underside of the floor, than had it completely rhinolined. Hope it keeps the rust away for quite some time.
