Just got another notice in the mail the other day, this time for the drivers side. Wonderful, when I had 'er down at the dealer a month anda half ago, they assured me it was just passenger side. I refuse to drive this thing until it gets repaired which is unfortunate because aside from this minor debacle, she's been a good truck. Not a sue happy individual, I believe in personal responsibilty, but I feel a class action lawsuit likely in the works...

IMO, if your vehicle has lived most of its life in low humidity Truckee, then I wouldn't worry much at this time. Got to realize which inflator are mist at risk, that unlike the Jap vehicles this is the first death of a person in a Ford that's attributed to the subject inflator, and that each and every inflator is by no means, a death bomb waiting to kill. If you're still uber worried after researching which inflators and vehicles currently are the most worthy of immediate concern, then I suppose you could temporarily disable the SRS.

*I'd like to know if Ford is using this recall as an opportunity to flash the PCM and not disclosing what it's about to consumers. Also, word has it that inflator for the driver airbag are already available and ready to be ordered.

Probably the clock spring , NOT the airbag itself. 2 separate issues.

It's not mentioned what you're working on so I'll guess that it's within the range noted in the thread title. In that case, the lower amperage fuses are a part of the SJB (Smart Junction Box) which is located in the RH side kick panel and is accessed via a removable door. FWIW, the SJB is a programmable module that also contains relays. Sometimes the vehicle develops a windshield leak above the SJB and water gets into it; when that happens all sorts of strange things can occur. Usually evidence of water intrusion can be detected by looking below the SJB for dust with water streaks.
