1950 F3 Bread/Step Van

Hello everyone, I’m new to the forum, but not new old rigs.

I picked up what I believe is a 1950 Ford F3 Step Van for something to tinker with on the weekends.

She runs, drives and stops, but can only go around the block for now.

The original engine/drivetrain combo has long since been removed, and an inline 6/ 3sp is in her now. It now has now a floor shifter.

The axles seem stock and the rear appears to be a two piece unit- similar to what you would see in the older Willy’s Jeeps, but clearly more heavy duty.

Plans are pretty tame for now, getting her road worthy and see where we can go from there.

don't play well w others
It would have been a flat head six and a three speed from new
The rear would have been a banjo rear, and as long as every one kept oil in it, should still be fine for many more miles

Thanks dustybumpers. The engine and tranny are not original for sure, I think the engine came out of a later model Ford Falcon, but I’m not sure what 3 speed is in there.

That rear axle is the stock one for sure, though.

Pictures would help

I would assume it is a matched set though
