3G alternator conversion question

Hi Guys - i've been keen on doing this for a while and have been keeping an eye out for a wrecked taurus which we have out here in small numbers as rhd imports from Japan - finally found one being wrecked out and the guy has sold me the alternator but it's missing the wiring plug and i was wondering if any of you know what it is - there is plenty of info out on the net but none seems to apply to this one.

Do any of you know what the wiring of this would be - i won't have it in my hot little hand until later on this week as it's coming down from the North Island.

Cheers Mark

Its out of a 1996 taurus 3.0 v6 station wagon - and even the local for dealer isn't to sure of the wiring either.

Look here for the 3G harness and the charge cable with fuse.

Ryan can be reached by phone (517-455-7352, phone hours: 12n-6p central time)
and will advise you as to the correct length charge cable for your application.
He ships quickly from Lansing Michigan in my experience.
Here's a page about doing the swap: http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=75

Here are details about all the different alternators:

Hi Charlie - here is a pic from fordfuelinjection of a 3g alternator.

And here is a pic of the one that i've brought.

If you look closely at the pic of the one i've got you can see where it says 3g but i can't for the life of me find a pic on the internet that matches this one so i can find a wiring diagram - it doesn't help that i had it sent to my work address and am unable to physically look at it.
The guy i bought it from assures me that it is 130A - i'm assuming that the wiring is the same as a std 3G cause the plugs look the same but just turned around 180deg - its just that i have "fried" things in the past with assumptions just like this.

that's a 3 g, You can tell because it has internal fans. I have never seen that style either, But I assume if you can get a bracket to mount it, it will work.I bought my alternater from advanced auto, I ordered it for a 95 tarus wagon with the v6. I think the one you have may be for a 4 cyl, Mine looks like picture # 1.

I might be missing something here. But what's so special about a 3g alternator

Okay i got the alternator today and it has p/n F6DU - BD on it and what i thought was 3G is actually 3C - manufactured date 04/05/02 - when i looked it up i get this ;

Which is a replacement for 3 litre v6 taurus/sable - does anyone know what the wiring would be for the plug? - iam going to have to jerry something up to fit as it doesn't have a plug with it.

Oh ok got ya. Does it make 130 at idle? Or driving rpms.

driving for sure, not real sure about at idle..
