Keep your air filter clean...tap it on a hard surface or carefully blow with an airline.
Keep your tires inflated properly...not more power, but better on fuel.

what im talking bout is any tuning tricks. i have new air filter and tires are inflated at 35 #'s but my truck is still a dog. on some days..

some days it is a strong runner then some days its an absolute dog. like today.

starting to think its jumping timing. but how likely is that?

Not likely...but air temp, humidity can have an affect on engine performance.
You have an EFI truck do you not?

yep. it is EFI. but idk when the last time the timing chain was replaced or anything. and i dont know what the timing is set at.
oh and typically 2 days in a row that are the same temp and bout the same humidity the truck will act totally different on those 2 days.

Timing doesn't just change....if your timing chain jumps on the gear..it ain't just gonna jump back and there would be a good chance of engine damage.
The distributor could move if not secured...but normally if this happened, it would turn one way and you would notice it right away...and it would not likely return to it's original position by itself.
Randy's comments are right on the money.

Tried throwing in a bottle of injector cleaner into the fuel tank?

I have no idea...I've never experienced that to the extent you are saying...I've noticed it with big temp changes and humidity changes, that is the only times.

cheap, fast, reliable, pick two

what i did to my old F250 was bump the timing wich you did

i would recomend some longtube headers :) 150 bucks

but you wont go any faster with zero to little money in mods
