Yep! Already checked car-part.com-- All of those are incredibly far from me, I meant to call a couple of them to see if they ship but never got around to it. Thanks Roger :)

San Bernardino isn't *that* far away. It's a six hour drive. Even if gas adds $300 to the trip, you're paying $850 (for the one is hesperia). How good of a deal is that?

$850 + $300 is NOT a good deal--- I can buy a rebuild for that price. Plus I'd still have to spend several hundred dollars in misc parts for the swap, which is way out of my budget. The previous guy was going to SHIP the trans PLUS all the parts (minus a couple) for around $850. I can find a better deal than $1150 for just a trans.

I don't know if pedals from an 86 would work, I have one I plan on stripping, but it has just a 4 speed. I can see if they would at least send the crossmember as well, or you could call and set up the deal, I go get it and ship it, or you can see about having them ship it, but the shipping won't be friendly most likely, but maybe I'm wrong.... I'll do what I can to help out, just let me know. If we need to break it down for shipping, then I can do that.

Damn Roger, that's incredibly generous of you. I wish we'd have thought of this before--- now I've only got another 2-3 weeks until I start school and that won't be long enough to get the trans shipped here, acquire all the needed parts, AND do the swap. My truck needs to be RUNNING once I start school so that I can commute between home and school. And I can't work on the truck at school cuz I'd probably get a nasty letter from the rental agency.

I guess I'll just have to wait 'til next summer :(

I'm telling you... you should get a beater to drive that gets good gas mileage.

Andy, if you can convince my mom to let me have another car, and you can put the money in my bank account, then I'll go ahead and get a beater. Lol, right now that just ain't gonna happen.

$900. Fix a couple things on it and sell it when you're done with the swap. By that time gas will be over $5/gal, so you can sell it for at least $1500. And that's in addition to the money you'll save by driving it instead of your truck.

No thanks. I can't be dropping $1000 left and right-- the transmission would be enough of an investment. Remember that I'm just a college kid, I don't make very much money.
