Need some exhaust help!

So my 351w is finally completely in my 68 f100 and running right. Timed it last night and wound up around 24 degrees advanced on 91. Here's the current videos so you have an idea of what I'm working with.

Now the point of this post. Exhaust. I was going to initially re-use the exhaust that was in the truck I pulled the motor out of, but it won't clear the crossmember. So basically I need some header suggestions before I go any further. Since the 351w was never in a 68 F100, I'm not sure what's going to fit. If anyone has any suggestions or has done something like this before, I'd appreciate the input.

Summit Racing has a good selection for basic headers. I just purchased some pacesetter shorty headers for my 5.0L and I will run 2.5" from header collector into a y-pipe, high-flow catalytic converter (no air tube) into a Enco 12" Glass Pack terminating just below the rear bumper with a Stainless Steel Tip.

On my engine true-duals will not increase performance and will decrease gas mileage. Moreover, if I ran 3" I lose low-end torque.

However, you have a 5.8L so you may benefit with a different system. Wait for others to chime in who have this knowledge.

Take care.

Boon

P.S. I do not see any overwhelming evidence for long headers as they are not tuned; all tubes the exact same length. Neither are the shortys I have.
Granted, with long tube there will be more performance than shortys.

Retraction.

After this installation I replaced ALL of the engine vacuum lines with rubber hose and achieved a 2MPG increase! These vacuum lines become very brittle and the smallest "pin hole" can reek havoc on our engine management systems.

Boon

Postscript: It is a "cheap fix" and well worth it!

302 motors were installed in 70 F100's so you could look that way. The frame for the most part is the same as later 70's trucks, so you can also look at those years, F150's still had no catalytic converters at that point. I have a 79 F150 right now with a 351W in it factory.
