the stick welder is not to bad that I have access to but I have never been great at stick welding. but I may do better with the 7018 rods I just bought for my hitch job.

nice industrial welder there... just need to learn how to use it...

7018 give a nice stable arc... or least it should... some brand sticks are better than others... I tend to stick with lincoln for their electrodes on my stick welder... tried a few different brands in the past.. like them the best...

I know the difference but I use what I got And what I got is free.[emoji1787] My grandpa was a master welder and he could lay down a bead no matter what. and if I get everything just right I can lay down a good bead but most of the time its get the weld done. it would also help if I didn't go forever between welds.

runs in the family for me as well... my uncle was a welder (now runs cranes for a living)... and my grandfather on the other side of the family was a welder for over 40 years (most of that in the mill the other part on his own)...

Well this one I got for free and it don't take gas and its an odd size wire or the fact I live in podunk mo. But I can't complain it has done the job even if its not pretty.

what do you mean by odd sized wire??

don't play well w others
The HF is a different size wire than we get for normal
I bought a roll of .30 and it would NOT run in my century AT ALL

Went to Robert's, and got a roll of .30, runs fine.
if you set the 2 next to each other the hf wire is like 2 times larger than the name brand wire.

youz missing a 0 in there... its .030 or .035... almost sounds like the machines are setup to run .035 wire... you may want to check the drive rollers... theyre reversible may have the wrong grove trying to feed the wire.. should have the sizing stamped into the side...

(flux core tends to be is .040 and .045 but ive seen HF have it in .030 and .035. ) HF also has a roll of .025..

Well life came to a head today and the best cat I ever owned had to be put down today. He was a special cat When me and my ex got him we picked out all girl cats as we had a fixed male cat. Well about a week later Harriette as he had been named start to swell up down there and next thing we knew he was a boy. well by that point he wouldn't answer to nothing but Harriette so for almost 11 years he's been special. He will be sorely missed.

Alrighty Well when I started my rebuild I notice my front tank had started seeping. So I thought hey I will find a bigger superduty tank and add that to my truck. Well a few weeks of searching I finally found a tank I hoped.

So I contacted the guy the pics he posted sucked but I could tell it was a larger tank. So I asked him are there any numbers on the tank and he said no. Asked him many other questions since it was a 500 mile round trip. So made arrangement to go meet him. And I pull up walk over to the tank and right on top plain as day is an airtek sticker with a part number. I guess technically it was not "on" the tank.[emoji2955] Well after some gripping and moaning I talked him down to a point I was happy to make it work. I didn't tell him I would have to make it work even if it was a diesel tank.[emoji1787] So loaded it up in my fancy Hyundai Elantra and brought it home. So once I had it here I opened it up and commenced to gut the fuel pump portion. Added a piece of tubing and a screen on the end(learned that lesson already). cleaned it all up and prepared to make it fit.

So to get it to fit in the obs Frame took some work the rear crossmember actually lined up nicely the front had to be modified and tubing added to make it sit right. Once I had it sitting right I made up some straps to hold it in place. I had 2 sets of obs straps so was able to cut and weld 2 together to make the straps I needed. The clearances when I finished turned out great . All moving parts would miss the tank.

So with the tank fitted I turned to how I was going to fill it. luckily I planned for this and had ordered 2 filler necks and had modified them both. Now hooking the lines up turn out to be easy they fell in the right place and matched up perfectly with the factory lines. The sender was harder I had to eliminate the pump wires and move the sender wires in the plug then it also plugged in to factory harness. Luckily for used the same ohm range in both tanks so my gauge works perfectly. So the first time I filled the front tank I could only get 20 something gallons in it. And I didn't understand since I checked with over 30 gallons of water when I first got it. So decided I needed to go in and find out what was wrong.

a342a0f9b3975f96d05fef5213039d1e.jpg

So unbolted the bed and lifted it up so I could get in there and work. So I know it was not venting right was part of my problem so removed the external vent from the tank and it stuck down into the tank like seven inches. now wonder I could only get 20 something gallons in. So pulled out the sender and all to double check thing and the cut the vent down and decided to modify the whole vent system to make the tank vent properly when filling. So with all the changes I took her down and filled the truck up.
47c6c0e6c0a0cbeeb8ec38451f3b86d1.jpg

So the front tank now holds Almost 35 gallons. And with the 42 to 44 gallons the rear holds That makes for an expensive fuel stop. But it also means a lot fewer of them on a Trip. I know my rear tank held 42 before I switched to external vent so may have increased the capacity slightly. But in all I am happy with my tanks just may e not with the bill at the pump. Had to go to my bank and set my card up so I can purchase that much fuel at one go around. So here ends another chapter in my trucks new life.

Harriette wasn't like any other cat out there I am not a cat person but he was always different. I won't ever get a cat again only reason I got him was my ex and as soon as she was gone he became an outdoor cat and he liked that he was allowed in the house but no litter box he just went outside. He was happy like that only coming in when he wanted to.

my issue is they make me sneeze, itcy eyes and get to the point i have trouble breathing... but yet i cant resist petting them... and end up paying for it...

Not all of them Sparky
The one w just lost was a Balinese, he was hyper allergenic
Gerry from Canada highly allergic, when he stayed here, Sapphire slept with him, no problems

There are several other breeds, but the hairless ones aren't nessicarily allergy proof. It's the salava that causes the allergy

Ok so both tanks are upgraded so fuel system is good or is it.

So the next logical step would be E-Fuel. But 1000 plus dollars for a system did not sit right with me not with the components they were using. So picked up a complete Super duty fuel pump assembly for the harness and all the fittings. I wanted the quick couples for easy fuel pump replacement in the future. Filters assemblies are both Wix and filters are easy to come buy.

50424727819a7cf585de66960ff70caa.jpg

So next was to build something to hold the filters and pump and attach everything to the frame.

1f3453b435fc073e495281758dd4b77f.jpg

Next was to plumb it all in I used stainless steel for all the fittings and new quick connects to hose barbs at the pump. Everything was plumbed to take the output from the selector valve into the course filter(30 microns) and then thru the pump and into the fine filter(5 microns) out from there and back around to the original metal fuel line to the front. How this system is complete up at the engine will be covered with the engine and the electrical will be covered with the wiring. So this completes the under vehicle fuel system and I have to say so far it has been working great. I kept everything stock as the original system can deliver plenty of fuel for the upgrades I have planned.
