I think so. I got to digging around in the old grease that was in the joint and I found lots of fine metal slivers.

If it's clicking, it's ticking!! For your application I would recommend using ADR axles from Super ATV, they are the same as the Rhino and will usually come in a Rhino box. They come with a 60 day warranty where as the Rhino's come with a year warranty. $119.95 for an ADR $199.95 for the Rhino.

When Dodge and GM build something that will compete with the F450, we'll talk.

If your going to spend real money ($200 range) go with Titan axles from S3. They plunge on both ends and their boot material and bands are about the best in this price range.

I will look into that, Ryan. Thank you.

S3 doesn't make a Titan axle for my 04. Since the difference in cost between the CV joint and the boot and the whole damn axle is about $70. I sprung for the whole axle from another reliable source.

I ended up ordering a Rhino axle. It was about a $100 cheaper than OEM, and the reviews seem to be pretty good.

New Rhino axle arrived yesterday. If temps get above 32, I'll install it. It shouldn't take too long, since the axle is "self-contained", with everything attached.
