what viscosity do you use? NEW POLL.

We have previous threads of this same topic but they're from 3+ years ago.. A lot of things have change.

You will be able to choose multiple answers.. Please tell in post what vehicle and why. Please also include what type of oil.. No judging of anyone's choices. Just info gathering.

So what are you using? And explain why.. I'm interested I see the reasonings. The reasons against why may surprise some of y'all..

I use Sinopec 15/40 sm/cf grade oil in my 87 5.0 F150 ..... i use this as it's a good multigrade oil with a higher zinc compound than standard modern petrol engine oils

Why the 15w40? To thick of oil causes to much oil pressure. Makes engine work harder.

What's y'all's average temp there?

And as far as zinc content goes, ya never know for sure how much zinc is in the oil unless you do a Virgin oil analysis or they release the info.

Most SN rated oils have plenty of Zinc (typically 800+ppm) for a stock daily driver engine even if flat tappet cam.

Ran the wolf in all my stuff for years.
The newer oil weights made me switch as I couldn't find it in 5w20 our any of the newer weights.
I tore down engines running it and they were clean. Valvoline and quacker state the engines were sludged up and filthy inside. I still won't use them in anything after seeing how dirty they left the internals.
