dumb question...bench seats

I have a quick question on what bench seats bolt directly into 73-79 dentsides? I'm searching for a seat and I'd like to know all the details before I buy one. I'd want one that's fairly looks of the ara, so are bumpside(67-72) seats a direct bolt in? 1980-86?

Thank you, just need a quick yes or no

73-96 150-350 bench seats are direct bolt in as are 97 250HD/350.

Should be: 1973/83 F100/350 / 1984/96 F150/350, 1997/98 F250 H/D & F350.

I have a seat from a 91 f350 in mine. Looks great and way more comfortable.

It's not too soft for you? Ford's new seats suck in my opinion. YMMV LOL :)
The sorry suckers left half the springs out, on purpose. :(

I've got a fix for them tho! :) Doesn't matter which type of springs they got
in them either, they can be fixed (to suit me).

Two Super Cab seat frames...

...guess which one is from '75 and which one is from '91. ;)

...detail of fix plus shows one spring in backwards for the 91's seat belt hole.

If your '91 seat ain't a Super Cab seat then it uses coil springs and those can
be robbed off another seat and added ...or bought new from McMaster-Carr.

Maybe it ain't too soft for you tho? {shrug}

pps- Nope, it don't get moldy here.
ppps- I'm 6' and ~175# and really ugly, even uglier than Ben. {shiver}

No I actually think the seat is a lot firmer than the old one. I sit up higher too. But the old one was really worn out. It came out of a crew cab and was a Lariat. Maybe they made those seats more comfortable. I dunno. I just know for me personally it was a huge improvement over what was in the truck and the selling factor of FREE with zero rips or anything in the seat worked for me LOL.

Yeah that sounds right, if that's the case. :)

One cowboy buddy runs Fords and his two older pickups ('85 and '88) have
seats with the coils springs in 'em like my '90 parts truck had. We were
sitting in them and my '91 Bronco (with the '91 SC seat I'd fixed in it). We
all could feel the difference and we'll be adding springs to his seats! LOL :)

It's not just the squishyassed feel on my butt but how the seat back don't
fit the back right caused by sinking down into it and that would make my
back hurt on long trips. I never had a problem with a truck-seat hurting my
back until I inherited the '91 F150 SC (put that seat in the '91 Bronco).

From way-back, people that had rode in it (since new in '91) for a couple
hours or more complained about that same sorry seat.

I fixed it by doubling up on the springs. :)

You can use any seat right up until 1996... You have to install the seat to the Old seat tracks for it to work though

The seats are wider on the newer stuff, may interfere with the armrests.

Yep, I just found that out, I didn't even check the tracks becuase I thought you guys ment it was a straigh drop-in. anyways, Bought a like new seat tonight for 50 bucks. It was out of a 1983 f250. The guy said he had the truck for 15 yrs and had always had a cover on the seat. It may or may have not been the original seat to the truck, not positive. The tracks were totally different and only had a place for 4 bolts, instead of 6 that 73-79 tracks have.

Hey..my seat is now installed. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what year/body style this seat was from? The pic is on my gallery. This pic does not do it justice, the seat is like brand new condition and a lil darker than what the pic shows. this is the pic from the sellers phone, which didnt take great pics. If you need a better pic to tell, let me know and I'll snap one

Just click on my gallery and the pic of the seat will be right there, wasnt sure on how to upload. I just thought maybe someone could tell me if it really was out of an 83..I've never seen this style of seat.

I uploaded some pics of my truck also, feel free to look, i will upload some others in the near future showing my new chrome grille guard w/ kc lights.

Thanks guys

I have exactly that seat, but with a pull down center console/arm rest. IIRC it came out of an 88...whether or not it was original to that truck, I dunno.

Yeah it's red and looks just like the one that came in my '90 parts truck too.
But what do I know about 'em? It's tough for me to know for sure without
seeing the springs etc. That's how I've learned to recognize 'em. Not really
into looking at seats as much as I'm into fixing the seats I got.

Why do you need to know? Just curious? Or what?

Thats what I was thinking 87 or 88. I guess this seat was put in that 83 from another truck.

I was simply curious because I didnt think it looked like an 83 seat.
