Breaks

Hello guys and gals. I have a question and some frustration.
My wife has a 2004 excursion. V10.
Built motor, built trans,10 bds lift, fox shocks. Latest upgrade is into breaks.
This is her truck so she does all her research and I pay for it all.. lol
So the breaks are SSBC calipers, drilled and sloted rotors,SS break lines and a fresh master cylinder.. after thousands spent i really expect a night and day difference. I dont. Is it better? Bearly..
What and i doing wrong?
Are my expectations askew?
Please advise [emoji120]

I went with the powerstop brakes on my wife's, now my Excursion and there was little to no difference in the brakes. I went back to stock with slotted rotors for the cost and it actually stops a little better now than with the powerstops
