The radiator is missing from the 1979 F100 I just bought, a salvage yard guy told me I could only use 1976-1979. Is this correct, or could 1980-1991 years be used?

73-79 should work, but no, newer than that will not. Mounting is all different.

67-79 has top and bottom tanks
80-96 has side tanks, and a lower, wider profile.
6 cyl, and 8 cyl top and bottom hose are opposites in and out.
Top hose on v8 on left, 6 cyl on right.
