axles

Im thinking about doing a axle swap on my truck. I want to get stronger axles than what i got im going to be running 38.5s i was wondering would dana 60 axles bolt up to a half ton frame? I really want to ditch the nine inch and the dana 44 cause its the weakest setup in half ton pickups.

I think CaptainP4 did a swap like that in his Bronco...I'm sure he will post something up on it...I think he used a 60 up front and a 14 bolt gm corporate in the rear.

A HPD60 from a 78/79 250 SnoFighter or a 79 350 will be the closest to a bolt up as you'll get considering you'll have to figure out if you're gonna go with what springs you have (coils) or the leaves the 60 would have...beyond that, it'll basically be plug and play.

Yeah i dont know now if i want to do a axle swap im thinking the tires im putting on are only going to be 35's the stock axles should handle that.

I think UTfball68 (Ben) is running 35"s on his Bronco with a D44/9in setup.

Yeah...35's will be about the max if you plan on doing any moderate wheeling. Personally, I always liked collecting parts, then run them til they break.

Yep sure do...but I know the limits...mainly mud and mild trails.
