79 Bronco weight

Does anybody know the true weight of a 78 or 79 Bronco?

Well, the GVWR is 6100. but I cannot find the unladen weight... gonna guess a thousand less than that.

Mine was 5700# when it was pretty much stock. Now it may be 5850# with lift and other things done to it.

They reduced the weight considerably when they redesigned in 1980, I've read. I would guess that they're between 5500 and 6000 depending on what tranny. (C6 is heavier than a manual).

My '90 Bronco weighs 5500 - so they couldn't have trimmed it THAT much.

I'm really sure the empty model weight was just over 5,000 lbs. As mentioned, the GWV was 6100. Odd, not a lot of payload in those things.
