So the trans in the SHO is working its way out, doesn't like going into reverse sometimes and randomly shifts up and down (made it down to 2nd on the interstate yesterday)...

So I'm on the lookout for a pickup, 2 or 4x, not too concerned about engines or trans because it's getting a 3.2 and a M5OD... Mainly want to know what to look for in the rust, wiring, mechanical dept before I go dropping cash on it...

Wiring is pretty solid in these trucks.
Rust areas to look out for is front cab mounts just below the radiator.
Rear frame by rear bumper and arch in frame by the gas tank.
Otherwise solid everywhere else.

rear suspention spring hanger brackets, rearmost seem to go first. mainly a problem in the salt-belt, probly not a issue with a southern truck that sees no snow/salt. tailgates like to rust out the bottom, front radiator core support. if has non-greaseable tie-rod ends, they seem to be bad arond 140,000 miles.
