Fishing itch led to necessity which in turn led to invention.

I loosely mentioned this on my truck thread, but it would be more appropriate here. In short, I turned this beavertail final attack duck hunting layout boat into a water jet bass boat.

For those who care, here is a photo album with a couple vids and comments on some of the photos describing the conversion.

I am currently waiting on a shaft coupler to arrive to complete the pump. I am going to go crazy as it will take several weeks to arrive.

Thank you!

I have had a setback. Due to apparent surface rust on the impellor, the pump experienced cavitation. The mechanical seal was destroyed and parts are no longer available. Therefore, I am either going to mount a propellor assembly to the existing motor or acquire a small outboard.

Sadly, It will not become a water jet after all, but a functional bass boat.

It is ready for the water! I just need to save for a trailer.

You can click on the previous link for the build photos and there is a run video in the link below.

There will be another video when I get it in the water.

Thanks! Great grip... Solid, and has that nautical look... Hey, I used what I got. I can fix ANYTHING on this boat for less that $20! And most come from my local hardware stores.
