I would like to put a larger engine in my 86 ranger which now has a v6. What other v8 ford will bolt up to the 5 speed trans. Thanks for any suggestions.

if the motor is still in good shape, why not try a differential regear instead? for example if you have 3.55's now, go to 3.73 or 4.10 gears. granted if you have a 4wd its 2 differentials to deal with and twice the cost. but its one way to go without taxing your current transmission and having alot of wireing and other engine swap issues to deal with.
