I'm looking for a business and ideally the name of a person to discuss doing a custom PCM flash (tweak) for me. I need someone who knows Ford like the back of their hand, and is willing to listen, communicate ideas and potential solutions.

Any names come to mind?

04 w/4.0 and 5R55E. From the screen capture showing in the EATC thread and some experimenting here, I have confirmed module communication between the PCM and the EATC head unit for engine coolant temperature, vehicle speed data is not being communicated. It first surfaced with slow refresh rates while experimenting with the outside temp function, and was confirmed when FORScan was ran. This because, DTC U1041, which is "SCP (J1850) invalid or missing data for vehicle speed". So......DTC U1041 is not a valid DTC for the 2004 model year, but it is for the EATC head unit (1997 - 2002). Its also noted that there is a DTC U1039 for the 2004 model year. I believe the reason for no communication is because the 2004 PCM is not "broadcasting" it in a format that the EATC head unit can recognize. More specifically, it's a minor difference in a PID (Parameter Identification number) the difference is in hex (hexidecimal, computer geek stuff). The hex string is probably eight alphanumeric characters long (me is making an educated guess based on what it looks like the CAN bus uses) and if the PCM sends out data for a hex string that is just one character off, the EATC can't read/see it. So to fix this, I'm wondering if the correct PID and hex string can be flashed to my PCM and if the way to do it is to identify a person/businesss that does tunes and has mucho info including this on file, or if can get it or.....if I were to buy a PCM out of an Expy that had EATC, if maybe the PID can be "sniffed" somehow. Think of it like, inhale and exhale, where the data is inhaled from the Expy PCM and exhaled via flash to my PCM. FWIW, this inhale/exhale process is exactly what is dome when some of the modules fail and are replaced on a car at the dealer today....I'm just throwing a different, unique and custom twist into the concept.

Edit: I"m not sure sure that a 94 has an EEPROM (Electric Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory) in the PCM and that it can even be flashed; it may require a custom burned chip.

I was hoping to change the shift points and the gear ratio in mine, and maybe the air/mix ratio for the Mass Air Flow system. The computer is from a 302 with 3.13 gears ( I think) and mine is a 351 with 3.55.
