Rumbling when releasing clutch from start

I am still getting a severe rumbling of the whole truck when I put in 1st gear and start driving. Goes away quickly, but is still there. The flywheel has been resurfaced and I have a new clutch kit on it. Supposedly the drive shaft was balanced as well...

Anyone else know what else it could be? I have a 1970 F100, 360 with a T85N 3 speed tranny..

Thanks in advance,
Steven

Is this after you have already released the clutch ?

During the process of releasing it. May have been a little off on my 5-10 MPH.

I have been driving manual transmission vehicles all my life and have never experienced this before.

Sounds like a warped flywheel causing clutch chatter.

You know Sean, I wouldn't doubt it given the problems I had with the shop that "repaired" my overdrive tranny that no longer has overdrive...

I will leave that whole story for another day....

That's exactly how my '75 acts and it's not the flywheel! :/
It's a crap-job lining up the bell housing on the motor. Read
(on the internet) where all the big-three were sloppy about
that back-when but Ford was the worst. My clutch has been
bad since -before- it had 14.1 miles on it. It was crummy
leaving the dealer's lot on the -test drive- after waiting on
the special ordered pickup to come in.

Thought it'd smooth out. :/
I was young and dumb, what else can I say?

I have been driving manual transmission vehicles all

So when did this start acting like this?
Etc.

Steven, quit making us pry information out of you.
Tell us the story.
Go. :)

It has actually been doing it since I bought it last June. Bell housing, huh?

You know, I have just always preferred a manual transmission for some reason. The 3 on the tree was a novelty I have wanted since watching my grandmother driver her old Belvider (SP?)

Hey Alvin, what did you ever do about your miss-aligned bell housing???
Well, since I didn't have a dial indicator with magnetic base and besides
I couldn't believe Ford would do me that way... ;)

I took it apart and swapped out the bronze/iron oil-lite pilot bearing for
a 6303 sealed ball bearing as a test and did nothing else. That was really
tough for me to do since I always did everything when I'd took it apart.

That fixed it about half but was told how to fix it later and will be doing
that pretty soon since I bought a new LuK diaphragm clutch kit for it.

The trick is to use the dial indicator and tighten the bolts after gettin' it
lined up perfect then drill the dowel-pin-holes out to the next size up. :)

No need for those weird off-set dowel-pin things.

Hmmm... I still need to get some larger dowel-pins tho. :/
Thanks for reminding me. ;)

Sorry, this dumb, retired, ditch-digger didn't mean to talk down to you. ;)

Google:
clutch chatter
dial indicator
6303 bearing
weird off-set dowel-pin thingys ;)
bellhousing re-alignment <-- that one I'll do when I get back from the missile silo! ;)

Just kidding!!! Will google that this weekend, right after I put my new regulator/recrifier on my VN750.
