since i couldnt find anywhere else to ask, i will ask here.

is the underhood insulation pad fireproof or resistant? i need something to insulate the inside of my doghouse, and thought this might be what i need.

the motor is within 10 inches of the insulation, and i do have headers, so it will get pretty hot. i realy dont need a fire in the cab like that!

Are we talking about the old econoline? My opinion is they are in between. I had an old chevy van with the motor between the seats. The oil soaked insulation caught fire. You could tell it wasn't able to burn freely, but there was some areas that was consumed totally.

yep its the 1st gen. econo. i need something to keep the heat out and keep the noise down, and have access to some of the insulation pads if i can use them.
