Need help figuring out wiring please

Hello everyone yes I am new to this form and yes I also posted this on another forum. In hopes to find that one person that can help me. I have tried to search and have come up with a very close threads about what I'm about to ask. The issues I am running into are the ones that have photos that would best help me with my issue I cannot view.
So here are my questions I have a 76 F250 with a 79 F250 body on it. The wiring to the tail lights has been butchered throughout the years so I am currently re-wiring it as well as adding a fuel tank under the bed. I could not load a photo. I am thinking the two purple are maybe neutral safety not sure. The green brown and blue. Ah. Gas tanks from the 79? And the switch the select tanks?

The colors are green with red stripe, brown with a purple stripe? A blue with no stripe, a purple with white stripe and a purple with no stripe. Thank you guys so much for your time.

Welcome to FTF!
Hopefully the following images help.
The first ones are for 1976 wiring, there is the color code first then the diagrams...then the 1979 in the same order

Hey Cody, welcome to FTF!

The F250 high boys(67-77 1/2) had a narrower 34" frame width than the lighter duty F100 and F150 models and later F250 models where the frame widened out to 37.5" behind the cab. So if you want to go with an under the bed fuel tank, the '79 19 gallon "after axle" tank would be too wide. I would look for a '76 specific part.

I did a quick search and there are aftermarket fuel tanks advertised for '76 F250s but I don't trust that they will all fit. I think some manufacturers don't know the differences between highboys and other F-series trucks.

Your best bet would be to see what other folks have done in this scenario. I'm sure someone will chime in to help :)
