'91 Bronco auto to manual swap? :)

Just wondering what fits and what doesn't fit. :)
It's got an E4OD and 5.8 and automatic hubs and I don't know what else.
This is my first 4wd ever. :)

What years of pickups' transmissions etc would I need to get for parts?
Will pickup parts even fit at all? (Yeah, I'm painfully aware it's a Ford;)
Any of the early 80's stuff fit the '91 stuff I have?

As a side note...
I need a steering column coupler, what years of steering columns will fit?
Any early 80's stuff work here either? :)

Looking under my two '91s looks almost as foreign to me as a brand X. :/

anything in the driveline will fit....any smallblock trannies will fit ie; 289,302,351windsor.Also you can grab the clutch pedal assembly from any truck the same body style as yours which would be 87-91...when i say any i mean 150,250, or 350.From what I've noticed the clutch pedal assemblies seem to differ in the different bodystyles. That'd be baaaadass to see a zf granny 5 speed in it....gimme some pics!!!!

Yeah Junior pretty much nailed it, with the addition of the fact the 300 I6 transmissions will also bolt up to your SB.

Cool thanks, guys! :)
Exactly what I was wanting to hear. :)

The edit process messed with me or the pictures would be up already,
so here it goes again... :)

First of all, it's a turd-brown '91 Bronco just like my turd-brown '91 F150. :)
You guys already know-ed what those look like, right? ;)

The Bronco has good paint but the clear coat is gone in big patches!
The sun cooks it and then the dry clear air cools it ~15 degrees below
ambient temperature at night, so it's a double whammy. ...every day.

If I decide to keep it, it will get painted Wimbledon white. :)

10.5" tires on 7.5 inch wheels? :(
Ford hadn't learned how to make the right size wheels by '91? :/

Lost a tire tread looks like. :)

Vise-Grip steering. :)

Took a picture of the missing battery tray but the sun messed it up.
I took out the tray and washed it all down with desert well water and
scrubbed it with dumb-ditch-digger-cleanser (looks and feels like mud;).

What is it? Got a number like 205 or something? :)

The mechanics told me not to tow it without disconnecting both drive
shafts, I'd asked about, see? They said... "not for the transmission but
for the transfer case".

Here's all the stuff I have enjoyed the heck out of taking off it...

Sorry about the junky picture taking of the junk.

-spoiler off the front bumper
-"hood guard" that rubbed bad spots in the paint!
-Reese hitch (what's the hole in the step bumper for? ;)
-2" ball with 3/4" bolt in Reese's sorry punched-out "1inch+" hole
-"sporty:/" car-like plastic box :/
-rear view mirror, alright, I had help from my grandson with that one! LOL :)
--...took some glass with it too! LOL :) I just hadn't got the Allen wrenches
--out yet, that's all. :)
-spare tire carrier
-front license plate holder (drift-pin punch, then cold chisel, spoiler same)
-double hand full of "wiring;)"
-cover hiding the throttle crank
-"Steel Horse" steps made of -aluminum- ;)
-blue lights! Eeek! :p
-"bucket" seats are still in it
--(but they are as good as gone as soon as I find a bench seat! :)

I never said I wasn't weird. ;)

Looks like a nice project. That transfer case is probably a BW1345--- that's what Trav has in his Gen 8. My Gen 9 has a BW1356.

Thanks for the replies. :)

Sorta;) forgot I have a '91 Ford Shop Manual. :)
Looked it up and looks like I have a Borg Warner 1856 electric shift.

But maybe not for long? LOL :)

------------------------------

Called a guy at a transmission shop and basically came away with one
important idea... get a '91 4wd/5.8 parts truck, only.
Computer etc is all gonna be needed, don't try it without the right parts.

Any thoughts on that one? :)
Other limiters?
Other options?

---------------------

The plan, if I can get this crazy thing to work, is to put a 4.0 inch stoker kit
in the 351W making it what they call a "408" (I'd rather the kit makers didn't
include the added cubic inches from the "30 over bore" when they refer to
engine sizes). Anyway, the idea isn't to make a friggin "race engine" but a
stump puller, basically a 300 with two more cylinders. ;)

------------------------------

I test drove a Bronco 300-I6 with a 5 speed (Mazda) and 2nd gear was
too tall to use from a stop. The only Bronco I've ever drove, BTW. LOL :)

Was fixing to ask about it and but found the answer in the '91 Shop Manual.
...the close ratio ZF's are only put in 7.3 Diesels (but not all 7.3 diesels).

-------------1----2----3----4---5---
T-18----. = 6.32 3.09 1.69 1.00 ----
M5OD-R2. = 3.91 2.24 1.49 1.00 0.80
ZF -wide- = 5.72 2.94 1.61 1.00 0.76 (wide ratio)
ZF -close. = 4.14 2.37 1.42 1.00 0.77 (close ratio, certain diesels only)
NP435---- = 6.69 3.34 1.79 1.00 ---- (extra wide;)

Yeah, there it is! :)
...1st is a little too low really in the Mazda M5OD-R2 for street driving. :/
Too dangged many gears to go through just to get it moving in traffic, IMO.

Ok, well, there's all the numbers I wanted to hear! LOL :)
Now, can I make it work? 8-/
Have to add F250 or F350 to the list my new parts truck needs to have! :/

Might find a 4wd Bronco first?
