we were out and about last night and drove by two different brush fires along side of the highway and then got stuck in the traffic on 270 from the brush fire started by the down electric line.

Everything is real dry be careful out there with fireworks and stuff this week.

Virginia had an Af-Am Governor at one time. And at that same particular time it was very dry in October and November. He tried to ban deer hunting for the year under the assumption that all the hunters were going to start forest fires. After a enough protest he reinstated hunting and was replaced at the next election.

Edit: No Fires Were Started, during the hunting season.

That's no joke, Scott. It's dry as a bone. One could start a fire on accident if he wasn't careful.

We have a "fire truck" on our farm. Pickup with 1000 gals and an irrigation pump will let us handle little stuff, or save a house until backup gets there, if needed.

Had one when I was out to Buffalo Gap as well. They kept the sprayer rig filled and ready all the time when it was dry, and they had a community fire truck that all the locals had access to in order to fight any fires. We always kept an eye out for any fires.
