2000 Ford F-150 auto to standard conversion

Hello everyone. So I have been a Ford guy since driving, starting with my '89 F-150 and '83 F-150 4x4, and then my '10 F-250 4x4. This past year I moved to Central America to do ministry work in the remote villages high up in the mountains, and you guessed it, I went Ford! I purchased a 2000 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat 4x4 extended cab with a 4.6 V8 and an automatic tranny. Its been a good truck, but since doing mountain runs, the auto is acting up, drive is now gone, and second isn't working to great either. I was wondering if anyone here has converted one of these beasts to a standard transmission, this would be more reliable and useful on these mountain trails around here I think. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I replaced the tranny in my '89, but was just a standard to standard conversion, so a slightly different animal lol
