its obvious your gonna say this stuff is quality stuff but have you ever personally used it? cause i wanna line my flareside and the 88. but i dont want it to be junk. and also how much coverage does one kit cover?

I have not used it yet but will be once the crewcab is done. I have read countless threads on people that have used and it was given plenty of rave reviews. Of course there are people out there that don't like it or will compare it to Line-X. Line-X on average costs around 500 and up to have done. It is roughly half the cost to do it in Al's.

Coverage is going to depend on how thick you apply it. Per Al's site this is what you get for coverage:

One gallon of liner is enough to cover roughly 45 square foot at 40 mils (approx 1mm), or 22 square foot at 1/16" (approx 2mm) thick.

From what I have read it looks like 2 gallons is enough to do the inside of a bed.

It consist of 3 materials that need to be mixed together. It is not premixed in a can. After you have mixed it together it has a 40 minute shelf life.

I can't post prices on the net because I am selling lower than the retail price. PM coming.

ANSWERS:
1. Al's Liner DIY Truck Bed Liner Kits are a high build (1/32" to 1/8") polyurethane truck bed liner kit. It is engineered to take high levels of abuse, unlike paints that are just pretty.
2. Al's truck bed liner is vastly superior to all DIY truck bed liner Kits in critical areas such as tensile strength, UV stability, and tear strength. It is not cheap epoxy or polyurethane with filler and solvents added to reduce cost.
3. With a few exceptions, Al's Liner DIY Truck Bed Liner Kits represents a new generation of polyurethane bed liners. Most of the big name franchise bed liners use very old and out of date technologies. Al's truck bed liner kits are more UV stable and tougher than Rhino, Line X and blows the doors off the liners like Reflex, Armor thane, etc. Since you control the application it's very probable that no one, even the pros, can match your Al's bed liner application.
4. Al's Liner DIY Truck Bed Liner Kits were engineered to be very safe to use. There not a safer DIY truck bed liner on the market, but you must be responsible and avoid prolonged skin contact or inhalation. Your lungs were designed for clean air, not dust, smoke or chemicals. You need to spray in a well ventilated area and wear an approved 1/2 face respirator with chemical cartridges. View MSDS information for complete details.
5. Al's could be sprayed with a number of guns, but we recommend using the Al's Liner Spray Gun. It's very inexpensive and requires no maintenance. It will last forever and was designed by Al's to give you great results.
6. Anything but hard plastic. Al's Liner works great on wood, fiberglass, and metal. Some surfaces may require scuffing and priming.
7. Al's Liner DIY Bed Liner Kits are available in Black, Gray, and Tan. You can use any automotive pigment including pearls or metal flakes to match any color. Call our technical support team to discuss custom coloring.
8. There is no bed liner that is more durable. There never has been and probably never will be. Al's Liner is the top of the food chain when it comes to spray-on polyurethane truck bed liners.
9. Al's Liner bonds directly to the substrate so no moisture or air can get in. If it rusts, it will have to come from the backside. Al's Liner is a little over qualified as an undercoating. No undercoating or rust prohibitor has the physical properties of Al's. They are not intended to have good physical properties.
10. Al's Liner is dry to the touch in 1 hour. Light duty use in 24 hours and heavy abuse in 72 hours.
11. We warranty Al's Liner to not deteriorate or degrade in any way. The warranty does not cover physical damage and the application is up to the applicator. If you do not mix it properly or prep the surface correctly, that falls under the applicator. Be sure to read the mix and spray instructions carefully.
12. Wood requires no preparation. Fiberglass and metal need to be scuffed with 36 grit or coarser medium. Sand blasting will give you a great surface. Wipe clean with a good solvent to eliminate surface contamination.
13. Al's Liner bonds very well to itself. Minor damage can be repaired with a brush. Major damage will probably need to be sprayed. Al's can also be used to repair other bed liners or as a top coat to extend and save your existing bed liner.
14. It's simple arithmetic. Al's is 85% solids so it will cover 22 sq ft. Per gallon at 1/16" thick, 44 sq ft. Per gallon at 1/32" thick (31 mils) or 88 sq ft. If you want more coverage, you will sacrifice protection.
15. Yes, but you might sacrifice toughness. Since Al's Liner is stronger than sand, consider changing spray techniques to obtain a rougher surface. Our tech support will be more than happy to help.
16. Yes. Use a polyurethane paint for best results.
17. There is no better bed liner product against petroleum. The only time there is an issue is if you know the products will pool and set on the liner for long periods of time. If pooling is going to take place, you are better off with an epoxy coating.
18. Scuff the metal with 36 grit or coarser media and/or blast then apply a light coat of etching primer. Spray on a light coat of Al's primer and spray.

It can be rolled on but the best results come from spraying it.

There are 3 parts to the mix for Al's plus the color. There is a resin, a catalyst and the acrylic.

In my prior post I said it was a 40 minute shelf life, it is actually only a 20 miunte shelf life. If you are planning on rolling it on just make your mixes in 1/2 gallon increments. That way it isn't hardening up before you are done.

I'm going to run a special till the end of the year on this.

Bump. That time of year to get the inside of the box cleaned up.

Here are some pictures of a Bronco the guy has done with product from me. A testimonial you might say.

Here is 2.5 gallons of AL's Liner.

I have gotta give a thank you to Ranger429 for the AL's Liner suggestion.

It is amazing stuff. I used 2.5 gallons and saved .5 gallon for my tail gate. My fear was that the herculiner or duraliner would be thin and brittle and to avoid "thin and brittle" I would spend a fortune. NOT the case. I could have used 1.5 gallons for 1 good tough layer but I wanted to "quiet the ride". I really built it up on the sides in the rear. IT NEVER RAN. I could hold the gun in one place STACKING the AL's on a vertical surface and it stayed put. After it was cured about 24 hrs it has a definite hard rubber feel. Only time will tell how tough it really is. I think it's gonna be tough ****.

Per gallon the AL's was cheaper than the Herculiner and Duraliner.
A couple lessons I learned the hard way.

Make sure you have good ventilation. I shot it with a resperator in my basement garage at about 6 PM. Wifie NOT HAPPY:rofl::histerica as the fumes SATURATED the house all night. I have used a few different paints, this stuff is MEAN.
I should have only used a 1/4 to 1/3 of the hopper on the first few squirts to get at the hard to reach spots. (under the steering wheel) The hopper nearly full is not easy to manipulate. AL's is a OUTSTANDING product, I will be buying more!!!

Go Ahead and Git Some Boy
I recently had mine done by a guy. I think I posted the pics up here? Anywho, I had my bed, over the rails, tailgate, rocker panels, step rails all done in dark shadow grey. I'm taking it back for some touch up for there are a few spots that are thin and I can see yellow through it. Overall I like the product.

Rolled it on in the bed of my crewcab. I'm also getting ready to place an order so now is the time to buy it.

This is how it started out after cleaning everything out of it.

After a good 2 hours of grinding, all that is needed to get the liner to adhere.

All taped up. The plastic is needed to keep the overspray of the spray on primer they give you for getting all over the paint of the truck.

dsc04010.jpg

End result. Tinted it with the left over paint that I had.
