Wish me luck...

As you all know from some of my earlier posts that as much as I love owning my 73' I have always been a bit annoyed that it burns some oil. Never could figure out why. But now that the Cadillac that my step daughter has borrowed is returned I can take my truck to Scotty at the Corner Garage and have it properly repaired. We plan to pull the engine, inspect for anything serious, re-hone the bores, install new rings, replace the rear main seal, replace the water pump, inspect the valves, guides and replace the seals. And generally look real close at everything.
I hope that when it is done and back on the road that it runs as well as it does now. And I have been studying up on the best procedure to correctly seat new rings but would like to hear any suggestions in that arena. All in all this will be a great thing for this great survivor. YelloThumbUp

Happy New Year!! Donald
